WHAT ARE THE OPENING AND CLOSING HOURS OF THE RESTAURANT?

We are open for lunch from 11.45am until last reservation at 1.30pm and for dinner from 6.30pm until last reservation at 8.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday.

 

WHAT IS THE COST OF YOUR SET MENUS?

We currently offer the following menus:

  • Lunch Menu, available Wednesday to Saturday at £160 per person.
    (available at lunch Wednesday to Saturday only)
  • Tasting Menu, available Wednesday to Saturday, at £270 per person

Kindly note our prices and menus are conditional; our courses are based on seasonality and availability of ingredients, therefore subject to change.

 

A 50% deposit payment is required to secure a lunch time or dinner time reservation. The pre-paid deposit will be deducted from the final bill at the time of the booking.

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED ?

Both menus include one complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival, and water throughout the meal.

 

DO I HAVE TO SELECT A DRINK PAIRINGS WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION?

No, you do not have to choose a drink pairing, although the option is available at the time of booking. You can decide this on the day. We also have a beautiful and comprehensive wine list for you to peruse.

CAN YOU CATER FOR ALLERGIES?

We cater to the following allergies ONLY: shellfish, nut and raw alcohol. In preparation for your Midsummer Experience we kindly ask you to select dietaries and allergies at the time of booking. We do not alter or offer alternative dishes on the day of your reservation.

Foods in this restaurant are processed in a kitchen that produces dishes with milk, wheat, soybean, fish, nuts, eggs, and egg products.

We are not able to amend the menu for preferences.

Some of the following ingredients are ingrained throughout the menu, and we are unfortunately unable to change even upon request: vinegars, onion, citrus, celery, garlic, dairy and eggs.

Please notify us when booking of any dietary requirements as we are unable to cater for changes on the day of your booking

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS?

We offer a vegetarian menu, however we do not offer vegan menus. Menu choice must be stated at the time of booking.

 

DO I NEED TO CONFIRM MY RESERVATION?

You will receive confirmation of your booking via email, as well as a reminder 24 hours before from our booking provider. You may also be contacted by our Reservations Team regarding any requests. Do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to check your booking 01223 369299.

Please be advised, that no reservation is guaranteed or confirmed until the holding deposit has been paid or equivalent gift voucher value registered with our Reservations Team reservations@midsummerhouse.co.uk

CANCELLATION POLICY

Should your plans change, you can cancel your reservation, providing it is within the minimum terms set out below.

We do however kindly request that you inform us of your need to cancel a minimum of 48 hours prior to the date of your reservation. In the case where sufficient notice has been given, your pre-paid deposit will be refunded to you, minus a £20 administration fee (Admin fee is charged on every cancellation).

Any cancellation made within 48 hour period, prior to your reservation date, will result in your pre-paid deposit being non-refundable.

In the event of a drop in numbers within 48 hours of the reservation date, the full deposit for those not attending will be non-refundable.

Please note: When a gift voucher is used as a deposit payment, the same rules as above apply, and the amount will be deducted from the value of the voucher, and is non-refundable in any circumstance.

All private dining room bookings have a minimum 7 days notification period, and any cancellations after that will be non-refundable.

You can always transfer your reservation to another person.

PRIVATE DINING ROOM – CANCELLATION POLICY

For private dining room reservations, due to the high demand for availability, we require a minimum of one weeks’ notice. If we receive a cancellation within this notice period then, unfortunately, the deposit paid will be non-refundable. This also applies to drop in numbers.

If more than 1 weeks’ notice is given, then any deposit paid will be refunded less a £20 administration fee.

In the event of a drop in numbers received within 1 week of the reservation, the full deposit for those not attending will be non-refundable.

You can always transfer your reservation to another person.

 

HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR MY DINING EXPERIENCE?

We recommend allowing a minimum of 3 hours to enjoy the experience.

In order for our restaurant to run smoothly, we do require the premises to be vacated by 4.45pm on all lunch reservations.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE LATE?

Your Midsummer Experience will start from the time of your reservation; therefore, we kindly ask our guests to be on time.

If you are running late please let us know by calling us on 01223 369299.

Guests arriving after 13.30pm for their lunch reservation will be offered our reduced set menu.

 

WHAT IS YOUR DRESS CODE?

Our dress code is smart-casual.

 

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

In the main restaurant, for the consideration of our other guests, we welcome children aged 12 and above only. We do not provide children menus and we do not have the floor space to accommodate pushchairs or prams.

For Private Dining Room bookings, younger children are welcome and we can provide a high chair if needed.

 

DO YOU HAVE CAR PARKING?

Unfortunately, Midsummer House does not have parking at the Restaurant, as Midsummer Common is pedestrianised. We recommend the following:

Grafton West Car Park, CB1 1HE
Located in the City Centre a 10 minute walk from Midsummer House

Aylestone Road, CB4 1HD
Located just north of the River Cam, a 5 minute walk from Midsummer House. Residential area with pay and display parking from 09:00 – 17:00.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no parking at the restaurant, and you may need to allow extra time to walk to us

DO YOU TAKE AMERICAN EXPRESS?

Yes, both for deposits and in the restaurant.

 

CAN I USE THE MIDSUMMER HOUSE GIFT VOUCHER FOR MY RESERVATION?

The voucher features a unique reference code, which must be quoted at the time of booking and must be shown on redemption at Midsummer House.

You are welcome to use your gift voucher by way of deposit against the reservation on the condition that its total value is equal to the 50% per head deposit minimum. It cannot, however, be refunded or exchanged for cash.

Should you wish to use your gift voucher in place of a deposit, please be advised that the reservation will need to be made directly with our reservation team over the phone.

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months and cannot be extended after this time.

Gift vouchers cannot be refunded, part-refunded or exchanged for cash.
